"Shh, shh. Don't worry. He'll be fine! If this is the result of that demon, I am doubly glad we hid when he came. He's a nasty one." As she spoke, she soaked strips of cloth in the medicinal poultice she was preparing. "Your friend her has amazing constitution. Whatever hit him really took its toll on his shirt, yet his chest isn't as bad as it could have been." She made a hand gesture and a fuzzy form fell out of the rafters and landed on her back. "Namu, water, please." The ring-tailed lemur leapt over to the countertop and scurried across. Her boiled water was kept in cantines on the other side of the house, and it was hard for her to get to them. Namu, on the other hand, was glad to help. The little primate grabbed one of the sterilized pigskin bladders that contained the clean water and ran back to Valena. "Thank you!" She handed him a little treat from within her purse. Valena used the water to gently clean out Stranon's wound, then laid the poultice-covered bandages across his chest. There. That should do it for the moment, at least long enough for her to help the woman.
"South Forest? I know of no southern forest. You say you came on a ship? Interesting. You say this man's name is...Stranon? A strong name. Names have power. My name is Valena. By what may I call you?" Valena turned to the elf-woman. "And where do you hurt?"

Kyri jumped back a bit as the creature fell from the rafters. It appeared quite friendly, though, and Kyri would have liked to pet it if she was in better condition. Perhaps another time when the situation improved and the healer had completed her work. Also, Namu was of yet another species she had not seen before. She was curious as to what the creature was, and would have inquired of Valena as such were there not more pressing matters on her mind.
“My name’s Kyri…And I hurt all over…I think my foot or ankle is broken and I have this…” Kyri lifted what was left of her torn and wave-beaten top to reveal the large wound in her side. She looked up to Valena with a worried expression, hoping to receive news that perhaps the wound wasn’t as bad as it looked. The pain surging from it was nearly unbearable. “What do you think? Is it too serious?” She hadn’t really thought about her condition before. She had assumed she would be fine because she was awake and conscious. What if her wound was too serious to heal?

The sight of Kyri's wound caused Valena to gasp involuntarily. It was bad...but she'd seen worse. Luckily, the girl had come to her. This was a job that mere poultice and herbs couldn't heal! "Lie down, child. I'm going to have to do something special for this one." With gentle pressure she pushed Kyri down onto the bed. Namu ran across and sat on the pillow next to the elf's head. Curious, he ran tiny fingers through her hair until a sharp glance from Valena stilled him.
Valena washed her hands in the clean water, then placed them over a heat-rock to warm them. It was never good to place cold hands on bare skin. It was a good thing she had treated Stranon's wounds first; she doubted she would have the energy to do much after this. She closed her eyes, finding the state of mind she needed to do this healing. When she was ready, she placed her hands on Kyri's side and concentrated on her inner energy. Slowly, carefully, she drew out the magic from within herself and melded it with Kyri's aura. Her awareness passed through her fingers and into the woman's body. With the ease of much practice she found the border of the living tissue and encouraged rapid yet controlled growth there, while pushing the bad parts away. Fortunately for the woman, only two ribs had been broken on that side and neither had punctured anything. It was only a matter of convincing the bone to form in and around the cracks....There. Valena turned her awareness back to the wound itself. The sides of the gash had grown together due to her encouragement. She slow the skin growth when she deemed it finished. It wasn't perfect, but it was all she could do. It would still hurt; nothing could take that pain away. But it wouldn't get any worse, though the bruise would be bad for a week or two and the scar would be permanent.
She opened her eyes. Namu was asleep on the pillow, and her candles had burned low. Healing always took so much time...She felt her knees grow weak and knew she had to lay down soon. Quietly she turned about and made her way to her own bed, a stall filled with soft grasses. She barely remembered lying down before she was asleep.

Stranon awoke quietly, cautiously taking in his surroundings before acting. He vaguely remembered being blasted by some kind of dark magic, so caution was necessary, being that he may have been taken by the one who attacked him. It was late, and thus dark and difficult to see in the small structure he was in, but as his vision adjusted the setting became more clear. To his surprise, his chest was wrapped, though it still was quite painful, so no serious healing had taken place. A dark form was lying down in separate area not too far off, apparently asleep. Stranon rolled down onto the floor and made his way over to the figure, crawling on his hands and knees due to the wound he suffered on his ankle. Once he reached the bed, he pulled himself up and realized the figure was none other than Kyri! He took a closer look and noticed that her wound had been healed, too. All was seemingly in check at the moment, so the half-demon decided to silently explore the rest of the abode.
A small creature lay a bit off to the side of Kyri, tempting Stranon’s curiosity. He reached to touch it, but thought better of the idea being that it could get scared and wake whoever else may be in the area. Instead, he made his way across the room and into another. Another figure was lying down on the ground. Upon further inspection, Stranon saw that it was a half-horse, half-human…creature. He had never seen anything of the sort. Regardless, she was probably responsible for his and Kyri’s better condition, so he left her alone and went outside. The night sky was completely cloudless and the stars shone brightly, creating a magnificent scene. Stranon gazed up at them for a while, thinking about how much he’d like a drink. He hadn’t had any alcohol in weeks. Unfortunately, he couldn’t walk and didn’t have the energy to hop around searching for a bar, so he would have to wait until morning.
